GEEZ A CHOON continues to go from strength to strength, creating valuable opportunities for emerging musicians across Dumfries and Galloway to develop their skills, confidence and creative practice in a supportive and professional environment.
To date, the programme has delivered five successful residentials, with six solo artists and bands taking part in each, bringing together some of the region’s most exciting young musical talent.
Across each residential, participants have had the opportunity to write and record new music, work alongside experienced industry professionals, develop their songwriting and production skills, and build connections with other artists from across the region. The programme’s impact extends well beyond the residential itself, with participants going on to perform at gigs and festivals, develop new collaborations and see their original songs released online, giving their work a life beyond the programme and helping them reach new audiences.
GEEZ A CHOON has become an important part of Up Yer Airts’ commitment to supporting the next generation of creative talent, demonstrating the wealth of musical talent within Dumfries and Galloway and providing young artists with the skills, experience and confidence to take the next steps in their creative journeys.
