The Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival has celebrated another hugely successful year, welcoming more than 3,000 audience members to over 50 events across 22 venues throughout the region between 21 May and 14 June 2026.
With an impressive average audience capacity of 74%, the festival showcased an exciting and diverse programme spanning theatre, music, spoken word, opera, circus and outdoor arts, bringing world-class performances to communities across Dumfries & Galloway.
Audiences enjoyed work from acclaimed artists and companies from Scotland, the wider UK and internationally, alongside outstanding performances from local artists and young people. The festival also continued to create opportunities for emerging talent through initiatives such as Up Yer Airts, while performances in theatres, village halls, harbours, community venues and outdoor spaces helped connect audiences with live performance in unique settings across the region.
This year’s festival was particularly significant as the first to be presented under the Arts D&G identity following the organisation’s rebrand, marking an exciting new chapter as the festival looks ahead to its 50th anniversary.
